(This post would make an egg-cellent childrens devotion, but, like with most stuff for kids, grown-ups will like it, too!)
What is “World Egg Day”?
“The international event that celebrates…the benefits of eggs and is celebrated in countries all around the world.” ~~ The International Egg Commission
Well, if we’re going to celebrate the benefits of eggs, we need to know what they are, right?
The Benefits of Eggs:
They’re yummy, they’re a cheap source of protein, vitamins A, K, D and E, folate, iron, phosphorus, and zinc. **
They fluff up souffles, thicken puddings, and taste great scrambled, fried, baked or poached. (yum!)
AND, when combined with colored powders, and in the hands of the right artist, eggs can produce masterpieces like this:

But, one of the things I like BEST about the egg, is what an egg-cellent picture of The Trinity it is.
When you see how all three parts of an egg – the yolk, white and shell — all come together to form one egg, you can kinda catch a glimpse into the three-in-oneness of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
So, while we celebrate the egg today, lets also celebrate it’s Creator, too, all 3 of Him!
You can start by reading these 3 Trinity verses from the Bible that are no yolk:
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” ~~ Genesis 1:26
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1: 1-3
”The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.” ~~ Hebrews 1:3

I’ve always loved the picture of the trinity that the egg provides… helpful to children and to me!
Thanks for stopping by, Wendy!
I can picture you giggling over your egg jokes as you write.
I’ve heard the idea of the egg being a representation of the trinity, but I’d never entirely thought about it before. This is really cool!
You must be yolking, Liz
