Water Tower Faith

“Come, all who are thirsty, come to the waters…” Isaiah 55:1

WATER…” The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah concerning the drought…a cry goes up from Jerusalem.  The nobles send their servants for water; they go to cisterns but find no water.  They return with their jars unfilled; dismayed and despairing, they cover their heads…”  Jeremiah 14: 1-3

If you’re lost in the country, just scan the horizon for a water tower.  Where’s there’s a tower there’s sure to be a town,  and where there’s a town ,there’s sure to be gas stations, grocery stores, safety and, of course, water.  It’s a beacon for our basic necessities; food, shelter, and water.

Father, I want to be a water tower.  I want to stand above the culture around me; a cheerful beacon to your safe arms, filled with the water of Your Spirit with plenty to go around.

Jeremiah goes on to write — ” You are among us, O Lord, and we bear your name…”  Jeremiah 14:9

Father, may I proudly bear your name, like a water tower bears the name of its city, so people will know, when they see me, that I am yours.

The more unique a tower is, the more attention it draws to its town.  Like this famous catsup bottle in Collinsville, IL.     or this smiley face in Indiana

Father, make me a unique expression of your creativity!

Thirsty?  Drink from this tower and never thirst again.  Jesus
