When it Rains it Floods. Lessons from Rhode Island.

Meet Rhode Island…

See the tiny red dot way over to the right?  That’s Rhode Island.  Here’s a close-up:

Recently, newspapers and websites have been flooded (punny, I know) with headlines about the tiny state.  The worst flood in 200 years has swamped roads, yards, whole towns, and drowned many peoples hopes and dreams as they face losing their homes and businesses.

One Rhode Islander said, “We aren’t really prepared for flooding. When this happened, nobody was prepared.”**

Here’s a video clip showing the flooding and giving more facts:

Life can catch us off guard, too, can’t it?  Are you prepared?  Or will you be caught by surprise like the Rhode Islanders?

Here’s some verses that will keep your faith high and dry when your hopes and dreams get drenched:

“God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ “ Hebrews 13:5

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”  Deuteronomy 31:8

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
