Oops! I just sucked my son’s memory stick up in the vacuum cleaner! It’s an all-house system and we can hear it banging around behind the walls somewhere when the vacuum’s on.
Well, now he knows how I feel. Someone sucked my memory stick up long ago. “What was I going to say?” “What was I going to do?” “I can’t remember” All common phrases I recite every day like a mantra.
Reminds me of this joke: The pastor told his elderly parishioner she needed to think of the hereafter more often. “Pastor!” she exclaimed, “That’s all I think about! Whenever I go upstairs from down, or down from up I’m always asking myself, ‘Now, what am I here after?!’ “
Well, there’s one thing I don’t ever wanna forget. I’ve said it before on Gloriadelia, but in case you forgot, I’ll say it again 🙂
I don’t ever wanna forget to read my Bible every day. Does a soldier need his gun? Does a bird need it’s feathers? Does a Gloris (me) need her chocolate?
Now I know you all know the answer to those obvious questions, but how ’bout this one?
Do you need to read your Bible everyday? YES!!! Say it with me — YESSSSS!!!!!
It’s your blood, baby! It’s the gun on your side, the feathers in your wings, the chocolate in your mouth. It’s everything!
Without God’s Word going through your eyes and filling your heart with faith every day, you’re open to every attack by the enemy, you’re faith will crash to the ground, and God will cease to be sweet to your soul. I’m just sayin’.
So, get that Bible into your heart drive so Satan can’t suck up your faith.
Here’s some good verses to remember:
“Yet faith comes from listening to this message of good news–the Good News about Christ.” Romans 10:17 NLT
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do. “ 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT
“I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11
