His Eye is on the Sparrow

“Not even a sparrow…can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it…So don’t be afraid.  You are more valuable to Him than a whole flock of sparrows.”  Matthew 10:29,31 click pic for sparrow facts. See below for picture source.

Sing with Ethel Waters:

I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,

For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,

Why should my heart be lonely, away from heav’n and home,

For Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;

His eye is on the sparrow, and I know that He watches me.

So, I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,

For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I Need Thee…

"Ho' my han', Daddy"

Father, hold my hand.  The world can be such a “hurty” place.  I wanna climb up on your lap for awhile and feel your warm arms around me.  I know you’ll sympathize…

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin.

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”  Hebrews 4:15-16

“taller walls need drainage…to channel away excess water and stabilize them.”**

That’s what we need, Christian, to stand tall –better drainage, so we don’t crumble under day to day pressures, or spill out on our family and friends.

God, the master wall builder, and has provided just such a system to keep us stable —

“…pour your heart out like water in the presence of the Lord…” Lamentations 2:19

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Sing with me, “And He walks with me, and He talks with me and tells me I am His own…And the joy we share as we tarry there none other has ever known..” (chorus, In the Garden)
