Good-bye 2009! Hello 2010!

tic, tic, tic…the days fly by like seconds…

 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…

 September, October, November, December…

2007, 2008, 2009, 2010…

hen the hand strikes midnite, may be one of whom you say, “Well done, good and fathful servant.”  Matthew 25:21

“Like a dream he flies away,

 no more to be found,

banished like a vision in the night.

The eye that saw him will not see him again.

His place will look on him no more.”  Job 20:8-9

Do you know Him?  Jesus, that is.

Draw Near

” Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”James 4:8

To stave off the winter chill, I love to stoke a blazing fire in the hearth.  But, unless I draw near, I won’t feel the warmth.

“… let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith…”  Hebrews 10:22

There’s warmth near the Lord.  I don’t want to be like the woman in the next verse.  Seems like it’s pretty chilly the way she lives:

“She obeys no one, she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the Lord, she does not draw near to her God.”  Zepheniah 3:2

How ’bout you?  Feeling cold inside?  Throw another log on the fire and draw near.” What you do with Jesus is the most important decision you will ever make.” ~Ron Hutchcraft  Click on the pic above to discover how to come in from the cold and sit by Christ’s hearth.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God…

The heavens declare the glory of God.

The skies proclaim the work of His hands.

Day after day they pour forth speech.

Night after night displays knowledge.

There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”

Psalm 19

I love that Psalm.  Psalm means “song of praise” in Hebrew.  Oh, may the Lord put a new song in your heart, in my heart.  So much trouble under the heavens these days.  War, crime, poverty, Swine flu scares.  Easy to get bogged down with it all.  So, look up!  The skies remind us that God loves us, that He is powerful, that He is beautiful.

As the sun faithfully rises every morning

 and sets again every evening,

He is faithful.

And so generous, He give us these beautiful skies for free!  “…for He causes His sun to rise on {the} evil and {the} good, and sends rain on {the} righteous and {the} unrighteous.” Matthew 5:45b

God IS good.  God IS powerful.  We CAN trust Him.
